One common problem that new subscribers have is that they do not realize that they need to create a data set before they can create their first map. We are still brainstorming ways to further streamline our mapping process. If you have suggestions, please contact us.

July 11, 2007 (Boulder, CO) MyOnlineMaps, a web-based mapping software, launches today at www.myonlinemaps.com. The software, offered at an annual subscription, provides an easy solution to the tedious task of creating data-driven maps.
MyOnlineMaps allows users to create national, regional, state and county maps that can easily be saved and transferred to presentations and documents. Site subscribers can create maps by uploading their own data to a private area of the site or choose from a variety of public data provided. MyOnlineMaps users have the flexibility to select geographic boundaries, data ranges, colors, and fonts to easily customize maps for a variety of purposes. Users can share their maps and data sets with other site subscribers and access free online mapping resources.
MyOnlineMaps Co-Founder Patrick Kelly has worked in the educational policy field for over a decade. Often tasked with creating maps for presentations and documents, he found no quick and cost-efficient method for producing custom maps. Kelly co-founded MyOnlineMaps with experienced web strategy consultant Jonathan Weindruch, Principal of Websults, to offer a mapping service that is both time and cost-efficient.
“Creating data-driven maps can be tedious and expensive when using most mapping software,” Kelly said. “We think our users will enjoy producing high-quality maps in a more simple environment at relatively low cost.”
“MyOnlineMaps is designed for professionals in a variety of fields, whether it’s a legislator researching constituent data, a grant writer developing a proposal, or a healthcare professional planning the next clinic opening,” Weindruch said. “Everyone can use the software to create maps that are right for their needs.”
